We are pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement. Your bargaining team met with the employer on August 13th, 14th and then again on September 24th. In August, the first day was very productive. We were able to negotiate new Leave provisions that will allow members more flexibility in how they access things like Bereavement Leave, Family Care Leave and Personal Leave. On day 2, both sides tabled their monetary packages. There was a significant gap in the base wages for Fixed Appointments. Your team also tabled language to bring the wages for Casual Appointments and Research Appointments on par with Fixed Appointments. We do not feel it is fair to penalize our members for taking on a Casual or Research Appointments. On our last day of bargaining on September 24th, we were able to agree to the monetary terms. We were pleased with the progress we were able to make at the table. Details will come soon through the ratification package which will be available prior to the ratification vote. The date of the vote is yet to be determined.
